I'm wondering what everyone thinks is the better option. No, I don't want a FMIC so please don't suggest that. I'm thinking of either going stock DSMIC on my B6 or upgrading the existing SMIC with one from apikol. The cost is probably the same. Anyone care to comment?

If your problem with a FMIC is the appearance, you could always paint it black. It would look just like the radiator.

Yep, saw that one but it's a bit more expensive than the one I mentioned. Either one is a fine choice and will consider both. I don't want the FMIC for a few reasons and have decided it's out. I started wondering if DSMIC or upgraded SMIC will get me better temp drops with less pressure drop because I heard some VW guys run BT with just an upgraded SMIC. True or not, that got me curious.

 

What is DSMIC? Dual side mounts?

Do you have a link to the one you were looking at? I bet if you compare the specs,the upgradedSMIC'sabout the same as the frontmounts, as far as cooling and pressure drop.

 

Yea, the dual side mount intercoolers that came stock on 190hp Euro specs.
