Default DV Install Direction

Hello,

I recently purchased the Forge DV and it has a bunch of different springs.

I have read somewhere that some dealers which switch the direction that the DV would open up and that would fix the honking/farting noise I have. I dont believe it so I bought a metal one.

My questions is since I have no idea if mine was flipped or not is which direction should the valve be installed, so it opens upward from the lower IC pipe or sideways (upward from the intake pipe). If anyone also knows the different spring pressures that came with this forge kit I'd be crurious to know also.

Thanks.

You didn't really answer the boost question though

I'm not going to touch the car. I am just going to drive it. I am curious what the spring preloads are on the spring in the valve, and the different color ones.

Plus I have also read someplace that some dealers have been flipping the stock valve around to try to fix the honking deal. Since I don't know if the person who owned the car had this done, I am wondering in which direction to install the valve also.

If your not going to run boost why did you purchase an aftermarket DV? To stop what noise? The Forge 007 is specifically made for the Audi so I would follow the instructions.

If you don't know the answer, don't talk. The stock valve was shot. Period. I have two questions and you don't know how to answer them.
