Dyno chart: APR K04 91 octane file
Went up to Rocket Rally this afternoon with a B6S4, B5S4 and Supercharged Passat to do some dyno runs.
The previous k03 stage 1+ dyno results are here: http://forums.audiworld.com/a4gen2/msgs/935810.phtml
My setup for the dyno is as follows:
APR K04 91 octane beta file
Chevron 94 octane gas
TT225 386cc injectors
Jet Jockey turbo inlet pipe
Milltek exhaust
DSMIC
This is graphs of runs 2 and 3 and they are almost identical.
** Dotted lines are HP, solid lines are torque **
With my previous k03 stage 1+ setup I registered an average of 158whp.
Today with the 91 octane k04 file I registered 168whp so I would expect a few more whp when the release the 93 octane file for my ECU.
To figure out crank values a correction factor of 1.68 is required. How did we get that figure? At KTR a stock A4 1.8t registered 101whp on their dyno dynamics unit. So 170chp/101whp = 1.68 so 168whp = 283chp

Here are the runs 2 and 3 compared to run 3 when I had the k03 stage 1+ (red lines)
With the k03 setup the HP peaks out at 4750rpm and steadily falls until there isn't much left at 6000rpm
With the k04 setup you can see that the HP peaks later at 5200rpm and it does drop a little but the HP is solid and holds all the way until redline.
The amount of torque available after 4750rpm with the k04 is substantial compared to the k03 setup

But here is the printout I am sure everyone who is considering upgrading wants to see... k03 stage 1+ vs. k03 stage 1+ w/ upgraded IC vs k04
APR stage 1+ 93 octane - purple lines
APR stage 1+ 93 octane w/ upgraded intercooler - red lines
APR k04 91 octane beta file - blue lines
You can see the amount of power and torque gained with each modification.

Dyno Dynamic dynos are the lowest reading units so I didn't really give too much attention to the numbers.
I was more concerned with the graphs as I wanted to see how the k04 performed to the k03 setup.

i have realized that dyno numbers dont mean crap. they all read different and dont really provide a deffinate number that means anything. the only numbers that really mean much are 1/4 mile times

i was hoping that the dyno read low... if im spending the money on a k04 i want more then that...but that torque curve is very apealing

I am sure if I put my car on a Dynojet or Mustang unit I'd get much higher readings so that is why I stated I didn't give too much attention to the numbers and focused on the graphs.
If you map out the output recorded for the B6S4 and compare that to its crank values you will see just how much of a 'loss' the dynojet has.
