Quick question,
My buddy if friends with the guy who built the fastes A4 in the world (a couple of years ago) and I'm getting some offeres from him to chip my car to allow me to push 17lbs boost from stock with no other mods besides a chip. It would also be tuned for 91 octaine. I do have faith in this persons techinical ability, but wanted to see what others thought about this offer.

17psi for a chipped audi is perfectly normal, you have no worries there. (those with bigger turbos run much higher than thaton stock internals)

You should let him do it, it is like a new car after its chipped.

 

Excellent, thanks for the feedback. I was quoted $450.00 for everything, and $100.00/hour for custom tuning after if I wanted to go that far.

 

You will need to upgrade the diverter valve, they are known to fail with the higher boost levels.

It goes hand in hand with chipping.
