Default e85 in a non-e85 1997 Audi 2.8L V6

Wife put in E85 in Audi with 120000 miles on it drove about 160 miles with a bad passenger side cat. Now What? Sipen the gas out and put 93 octane back in? Any info would be enlightening.

Tried to put a siphon tube but gets blocked. Are the gas tanks siphon proof?

Lift one side of the car so the gas in the tank will shift to the filler thingy. Worked on my mom's car in my high school days

Your gas mileage will BLOW with e85, but I don't believe anything will be seriously messed up. You'll have a CE light (probably from the O2s) nut once the tanks is over and done with run some good injector cleaner though to be safe. e85 is very corrosive, so a good injector cleaner would be a good idea. Good luck.

Thanks, just got done driving it. Just installed new cat and O2 sensors. Spuddered down to the gas station. Filled it up with 91. Checked my codes. Erased the codes. Drove about an hour no cel and runs like a champ. Thank all of you for you help. Hope that tank of e85 didn't do too much damage.

And just how bas is E85 for the Audis??? I mean it has a higher octane rating so would it not be a bit beneficial to run it??? Can the car be modified to take this type of fuel?

You shouldnt run E85 on a car that doesnt have a wideband o2 sensor on it. The gas is = to 110+ octane but needsmore fuel to be stoch, thus lower milage and maxing out injectors. With a 01+ car, larger injectors or a mix with 93 and you can gain huge in performance.

You just need to fill with 93 and lower the % of E85. You dont need to change anthing since nothing will be damaged by using it.
