Default easy fix on oil leak

My car has been in the shop for about a week now, and today I went to visit it.
the mechanic had the whole front bumper off and showed me my car needed, i dont know what they were called but they are like black rubber outlines, he ordered new ones for me. well that get the job done? or is he just bullshittin, cuz the guy has never worked on an Audi before but has alot of experience with BMW and MERCEDES. so what are those things called?

Find a new mechanic, but first, look under your car and tell us where the leak is coming from.

i have a similar oil leak problem but it seems for me that the oil its leaking from the oil pan. I replaced my oil filter and changed the oil and **** the other day and the bottom part of the oil pan seemed to be oily and it seems like it was replaced b4 cause instead of using the proper gasket it seems like they used like sylicone. i dont exactly know how im gunna go about replaceing that or even if that is really the prob. any ideas?

So the mechanic doesn't know what they're called? If hes gonna rip your front end off atleast let you know the details of what hes doing. Its obviously too late now but next time find a reputable Audi/VW shop. Hmmmm...oil pan gasket maybe.
