Test pipe. It replaces the stock CAT and is way less restrictive. If you live in a state without emmissions its great if you live a state with emissions get a high flow cat.

02-04 One at the bottom, would that be a better kit than the Ebay one shown? Anyone got it, and does it sit farther away from the turbo like the Evoms one?

man for what you are going to get, if you want a cone filter, just do the cone filter mod, you can make it look just as good, for cheaper

all i did was get a cone filter from autozone and a breather filter, faster throttle response and i hear the pssh from my dv, which i could care less about.........oh and i hear the turbo more

no offense to anyone with it, but screw the high dollar intakes unless you are bt, they do practically nothing

I wouldn't buy it...why you might ask. Because I have a 2.8, LoL. Other reason because his engine bay is dirty, and the suspected reason is because the new intake is sucking in too much air bringing in the dirt with it and I hate cleaning my car. Just another task to be had more often. You 1.8t guys have ugly intakes

meh, I clean my car (inside and out) every saturday or sunday. Always.. so thats not an issue.. cleaning the intake cone every 5k miles or whatever won't make me sad. I'm prolly just gonna buy the Carbanio... mine as well do it right if I'm gonna do it at all.

Thanks for your guys opinions though, I know how "worthless" intakes are to most.. but with a custom heatshield (like the one I ordered) that leaves an intake cool to touch after pushing the car extremely hard I am convinced I'll gain 2-3 horse power, and noticable throttle response, plus the tuner noise that an intake offers. So for me its worth it, plus its a side mod thats kinda nice with an exhaust + chip.

Thanks though!

i'm not sure how you think it will be cooler air than the stock box, but i hope it works out for you, make sure to post your dyno plots.

and when you say its a worthless mod to most, if by 'most' you mean every single 1.8 turbo thats running a k03 or k04 (including you,) then yes, thats a true statement.

big cones with heat shields arent needed until you have a true BT setup like gt28rs, etc.plus, with a borla exhaust i dont know how you will hear that crazy madair hiss yo anyways . . . enjoy!
