hey all im new to this forum just wondering if any body can help i have an audi A4 2001
and my ECON light stays on even if i press the switch . . . . if its the display/control unit has any body got one for sale

 

Hmmm, does it click and move in and out when you press it? Did you spill some coffee on the switches? If the switch isn't moving easily, then it is probably sticky. Try some TV tuner cleaner judiciously sprayed in the area.

 

mine do that too ... they stick. it's annoying as heck.

It clicks and seems to operate fine if i hold it in the light stays off for about 90secs then comes back on

Can this stop the air con from working alltogether as it seems to have stopped DOH!!! should have mentioned this earlier
when the engine warms up no matter what you set the displays at you get warm/hot air.....

 

Yes, the econ setting turns the AC off. Get a Vagcom and see if there are any issues with the HVAC, or whether it is a switch problem

 

Hi its been checked over by an (AIRCON ENGINEER) HAHA joke new nothing,.,
its been fully regassed and has no faults or leaks but the fans are still not engageing
I cant seem to bring up error codes on the internal unit

suppose i gotta get a full diag check on it aswell will do it monday and let ya all know what the fault is
