I can't imagine how it would make your car slower. The rotors are of a larger diameter, so they weigh more. But, since the swept area is the same, the pad will exhibit the same drag on the rotor. The advantage of the upgrade is larger rotor = better cooling and since the pads are farther from the center line they provide higher leverage when applied. Mine have only been on for a short time, and I haven't gotten on them yet since they aren't bedded. That said, they already feel better than the stock ones. Eventually I would like to get the 2-piece which are quite a bit lighter.

i did a "economy BBK" for b6's with the 3.0 rotors (312mm instead of 288mm) and by the time it was all said and done with new fluid, pads, rotors all the way around and SS lines it was about a grand,... i wished i had just spent the extra $ at the time for stoptechs.... they had a christmas special for $1595 i think.....

My upgrade did more for looks, performance wasnt dramatically increased, but slightly.... hindsight is always 20/20

but if u just want it for the look of bigger rotors, its a good buy

heres a tread tread i copied from my recent post

Lol^^^^

Bigger rotors = increased sprung weight and rotating inertia =worse handling car with sloppy suspension reaction and SLOWER stopping ability. The increased friction surface doesn't offset the decreases in performance all the way around. best you can do is put on stainless steel lines (biggest increase and cheapest cost) then crossdrilled SAME SIZE rotors with more powerful calipers.
