Can anyone recommend a website i could buy a remanufactured ECU for 97 1.8T No Q?

 

Do you have your old ecu, if so you should get the number off it and then just search the classifieds on here, audizine, and audiworld you could probably pick up a chipped ecu or stock pretty easily if not check the sticky up top for the parts places

 

What does Chipped Mean.?.

 

an ecu that has a performance chip, a chip is the thing that runs the car, tells the motor what to do

I thought there was already a chip in the computer, i just did not get what the word chipped meant.

yes there is already an ecu in your car, a chip will mod the ecu to run more boost, change timing and fuel maps, if you have a turbo. if not they do some other stuff with fuel and timing

 

So i get a chipped ECU does that mean i have to change other things in the car, i saw in some other forum a guy say that he had to change the plugs and some other equipment!

 

you can just get a chip, it is recomended that you get a new Diverter Valve (DV). Its comonly known as stage 1
injectors are not needed tell you get a new turbo or u crank the boost way up and a chip will let you run about 14.5psi maybe more or less
