On the B6 i need to know what makes an ECU interchangable with another. reason is i am purchasing a used chip and the beginnings are the same, 8EO, but the endings are different. HOWEVER, the stock ecu code for the other vehicle was 8E0 909 518 BC; the ecu that is chipped and used in that car is 8E0 909 018 A. my code is neither of the two so what are the odds it will work? educate me.

Is yours tip or 6 speed? If you are not 6 speed, that could be the difference.

I dont know about audi specifically (try a search on this) but in most cars, a manual ecu willNOT work in a auto tranny car, but usually an auto ecu will work in a manual model.

 

The ECU is for a 6 speed and i have a 5 speed. What can yall tell me about immoblizers??
