Hey guys, Ive had a good look, but I cant find the answer to my problem. Basically had to swap over an engine, but the new engine uses a VSS whereas the other one just had a blanking plug. Ive put the new clocks in and new ecu and everything works....except the speedo. So does anyone know which pin I should plug the Speed Sensor wire into?

ok let me guess, its a 1.8T between 1997-01 and pin 6 is the idle and and RPM signal, pin 20 is the speed signal

 

sorry I really should be more specific. It is an 03 reg A4 19 TDI. The VSS plug has two wires coming off it, ones red and brown the other is just brown if I remember correctly. I basically just need to know which pin they are supposed to go to on the back of the ECU.

So avant80@2.6, would I be right in thinking that I'd hook up the brown/red one to pin 20 and the other one to pin 6?

not much info on the diesel but luck has it they didn't change too much so its pin 2 for the RPM signal and pin 43 for the speed signal

just wanted to check thats the same numbering format you are using?

The numbers should be stamped on the conector somewhere. Not all of them but enough that you can count to the pin you need based on the ones they tell you.
