Default Electric issues...

Can anybody point me somewhere how to fix electrical issues in general with my car? I have multiple issues:

1. My cruise control does not work consistantly (as in, it will work maybe 1 in 15 times if i'm lucky)

2. When i hit the alarm unlock, only the left side of my head/tail lights light up.

3. Sunroof opens at random times when the switch is in the 'closed' position (actually i have the post on how to fix this, just thought i'd include it in my list)

4. My rpm's at about 6-8 are noticeably dim. (a bulb out inside?) (i mean, 'duude, i probably redlined it so bad taking out that viper that time dude , yeah bro...')

From my readings, Audi's are notoriously bad in their electrical reliability, is that everyone elses opinion as well? Anyway, another note, i'd really appreciate any more help than 'check the fuses' being that i'm pretty inept at just 'checking the fuses.' i mean, can i just pull out every fuse and replace them with a pack from pep boys? thanks!!

Chris

1. Cruise control stalk is probably bad. Try spraying it out with some electronics cleaner. It's a pretty common problem, mine doesn't even work most of the time.

3. Sunroof switch is probably bad, again try cleaning it first with electronics cleaner or replace it. Might want to buy a used one - carpart.com

4. You probably have a bulb out in the cluster. Stop by the dealer and pick one up as it's the only place to buy them. To remove the cluster, pull up on the trim piece below the cluster. It just pops off. Next remove the two philips head screws. Wiggle the cluster out and disconnect the 4 or 5 plugs on the back. The CEL light just twists out.

1. take off the steering column surround and spray some electrical contact cleaner on the contacts....take your steering wheel, remove the switch assy. and clean it more thoroughly if that doesn't work...

2. pop the back seat off (just pull up on the front) and see if the connections on the reciever are ok...

3. you got that one...

4. a bulb is out....removing the gauge cluster is not very difficult, there's a write-up on aw i believe...run a search

audis are not "known" for having electrical problems....except by people who have never owned an audi....these problems aren't uncommon to audis, or pretty much any car...they're just normal wear problems...
