Default Electric Top 1997 Not Working

I have a 97 cabrio, the electric top is not functioning. I release the top with the handle and do everything right. When I pull the button to lower the roof it clicks once and nothing else happens. Any way to manually override the electric top so I can at least get in there to have a look?

Does it only go one click with no more motor noise? Have someone listen close to the top and see if there is anymore noise when you push the button.

I think it only clicks, no motor noise. I'll have someone listen to it tonight if I can. Is there any way for me to get in there manually? I cannot get the back of the top to move up and I don't want to break it. Also, it appears the cover is locked as well because I tried lifting that to no avail.
