engine code

I hate to sound ignorant, but I'm new to Audi. Just bought a 1998A4 2.8l Quattro which has a pretty serious oil leak in the front of the motor. How do I identify which motor I have?

RE: engine code

your engine code might be AFC or AHA depending on what year the car was built. You can also look at the front of the engine. it should have the engine code printed on it.
