Engine Coolant Flush?!?! and Hydraulic fluid Qs...

Hi all,
My engine coolant level is a little bit low.
Is it okay if I just flush the pink stuff out and put some prestone coolant in?
Which prestone coolant will be suitable for my 1996 A4 Quattro?
Is 1 Gallon of new engine coolant will be enough to fill it up? can somebody tell me how to do it?

And also, I think I need to flush out my hydraulic fluid.
Can anybody also tell me how to change my hydraulic fluid and how much fluid do I need to fill it up?

Thanks....

I wouldn't bother with fancy coolant in your 96. I'm running the green stuff in mine, but may switch over to yellow or dex cool when I do the timing belt in 45k.

Hydraulic as in brake fluid or PS fluid?

prestone makes a "all-compatible" anti-freeze. look for that, I believe a yellow bottle w/ action letters saying "All-compatible" hehe

Go to the autoparts store and look at the shelf for antifreeze.

For PS, you will need Pentosin 11S which you can buy from a dealer or on the net. To flush the PS system, you can disconnect the hoses to the pump and drain. Alternatively, you can do partial changes with a small turkey baster, suck out the fluid in the reservoir and replace with fresh Pentosin. Do not use transmission fluid or stuff labeled generic "power steering fluid". It will ruin your steering rack.
