I have an 03 APR chipped.
And my CEL is always on. But the car drives fine.
I take it to the dealer, and they clear it , but it comes back on a week later.
I dont even care anymore..
Probably not a big deal at all .

Check your vacuum hoses. You may have a leak. VAG-COM should tell you what is wrong with your car.

I would check the hoses first before I change the O2 sensor.
