So last night Im coming off a long, sweeping off ramp, and decided to floor it, about 6 seconds later the motor practically died, the car started sputtering and lurching. The boost was going up and down rapidly. This happened before, a few weeks ago, flooring it up a hill, but this time I heard a loud *** Bang from under the car... The car was fine, didnt smell anything, and the car seems perfect today, drove it an hour and a half so far w/no probs... WTF???

Anyone got a clue what happened? I wonder if i have a loose hose and the boost was escaping then the extra fuel blew up in the cat?? Maybe my plugs are dirty? I dont want it to keep happening so any help is appreciated. Thanks!

 

Misfired, engine ran rich, dumped gas into the exhaust and your enginebackfired.

 

Cool, thanks David999. Ive started to notice some oil on/in my intake hose too, so I think my turbos starting to go...Thats why I was freaking out when It happened, I thought the impeller blew apart and I was fucked.

I need to get my adjustable FPR soon to stop the rich cndition... Dont want to keep doing that **** to the motor...

 

+1 on the backfire... might want to vag your car to see if anything came up.

+1 and with your mod list im not suprised.. Those injectors are probably too big with stock turbo while using a k04 file, not to mention the bov.

check your plugs (color)and plug wires, might give a sign as to the problem...
