Default Engine suddenly losing power

Hey all. I have a '03 A4 3.0l with about 55k miles on the clock. lately I've been noticing a strange problem with my car that I can't explain. While I'm driving down the road, doesn't matter at what speed, I will have momentary losses of power. It is like for a split second the engine shuts off, but right away comes back. Now it will go days without any of this happening and then all of a sudden do it a couple times in 10 miles of driving. The car does not throw any engine light at all for this. Any ideas??

When I saw the title of this thread, my first thought was "Surely not. Pop the hood and double check."

lol, no the engine is still there. Just not quite running as it should. I have a manual trans. I have a code reader as well, but just having trouble loading in new software for it. I'll try and pull any codes available and post them

Haha me too, I was thinking that someone took the effort to take the entire engine out of the car. I was almost hoping that I'd open up the thread and read the topic post to be "help pls my engine is gone and my car wont start wat do i do?"

ummm, what motor so you have, because similar thing would happen to me in my 1998 2.8 wagon, but mine was throwing a code, and my problem was a shitty throttle body. take it to a shop and have them scan it just in case, maybe its just not showing up?
