alright....since i pretty much screwed myself performance wise by buying a 96 A4 2.8 quattro. I was wondering if is at all possible to swap my motor for a 1.8T, and if i can what is a good reliable audi motor company. I have the money and i really like my car but its just a slap in the face when i realized that i couldnt do even 10% of what i wanted to. I hope somewhere i can overcome this problem and become a very active member in these forums. Thanks

it is funny to me at least once a week hopeful first time a4 owners come on here and hope to find a way to make there car fast and then there super angry that they cant cause they have a 2.8 i know because i was in your same place. but i sold my 98 2.8 and got a 1.8t

 

Yea man just sell it and get something else the 2.8's are pretty worthless for modding, well the 30v isnt but the 12v is so yea like you said your screwed

 

do a 2.7T swap there is a guy selling a complete drivetrain for $5000 on audiworld

 

well...i dont know about being super angry but all the plans i had and when i found this out it was just a slap to the face. I really like my car but everytime i go to my local audi dealer i really want to trade it in for a 1.8T. Im about 75% sure thats what im gunna end up doin cause i always wanted a 2JZ but i love my audi now and have to buy a new one i guess. Thanks for all the help so far
