Default Engine Swap

1996 Audi A4 Quattro...what engine/trans swap possibilities are there with this car? Or, what's the best possible performance upgrade options? Just want to know your opinions. Thanks

Its not a honda so engine swaps are almost never worth while for the price tag.
As for the performance upgrades, you didn't even tell us what engine you have so how are we gonna tell you?

Sorry, I was under the impression the American A4 from '96 only offered the 2.8 12V. Anyway that's what I have. So how difficult or plausible would it be to put in a 2.8 30V or even the the 2.7 with turbos from the S4?

You drop a 30V 2.8L in just fine but thats next to no power increase.
Putting in the 2.7T with all the supporting mods would cost so much and take some much time your head would spin.

it all depends on where you get it done. there's a shop that does 2.7t swaps for just above 5 g's.

the only options i would even look into for you are the 2.7t or a vr6 turbo. your gona spend at least twice the value of your car, so you gota ask yourself if its worth it...

VR6T all the way. If you can do your own work and do some junk yard trawling it isn't that bad. Talk to the guys at www.034motorsports.com they are a great help and will respond to your emails.
