My 08 1.8L turbo 160hp engine makes a ticking sound mostly at idle.
It's not so loud with the hood closed but once I open the hood it sounds almost like a diesel.

Is this normal?
car has 13,000 miles on it, using Castrol fully synthetic oil.

I know on other cars which tick it may be tappets, or even faulty injectors etc, just wondering if this is normal for this car?
