Default ESP

I own a 2003 B6 A4 and my battery died because I didn't turn on the car for about 3-4 days is this normal first of all. Secondly, when I did charge the battery and turned on the car, I noticed my amber ESP light was illuminated on my dash. I went to hit the ESP button to turn it off, but it didn't work. What could have happened?

i believe if you are seeing the esp light, then it is off. It is always on when you start the car, and you press the button to turn it off....... and no it is not normal if your car won't start after a few days. sounds like your battery has turned south......

Well the are is turining on now I think the battery is ok, but since the alarm is active, won't it run down the battery? Regarding the ESP, I press the button but the amber light still stays on.

Your battery is bad or you have a short and are drawing power somehow. My old BMW did this and finally we just unplugged a light bulb and the draw dissapeared. We did this instead after spending tons of hrs trying to trace the wires but never found the bad one. So short or bad battery but definately not normal.
