Default Exhaust

I was recently rear ended and im waiting to bring my car to the shop on june 13th, but as ive been driving my car around for the past few days ive noticed that when i accelerate my exhaust kinda seems to be sounding ricey, im sure you all know that sound. its not bad at all but i've definatly noticed it. after i talked to some friends they think i might have broken a seal when i was rear ended. because the noise just started recently. so my question is do you guys think that if i tell the shop to install a new exhaust like Borla or something that they would do it. and generally would i have to order the part before i went in there or would the shop order it since i wouldn't have to pay for anything because the accident wasn't my fault and its covered by insurence.

If you think they would do it, any suggestions on good exhausts which arn't huge like rice cannons and don't sound like rice.

don't know about other stuff, but I'll tell ya my 2 cents on exhaust.

I have a Neuspeed one and it's great. I've been really happy - sounds great. Was about 800 but comes with a full downpipe as well, so that's really good.

I hear APR is good. Someone will say Borla, but I'm not too big of a fan for some reason.

everyone has a brand they like and dislike. I would suggest you try to find people with specific set up and listen to them (get audio files if not in person).

What one perosn likes is not what another likes, so you have to go by your own opinion.
Case in point - I don't like how the Neuspeed exhaust sounds, but I do like the Borla.

depends on the shop...you'd have to pay the difference for sure but some are cool and some don't like to do it. dones't hurt to ask.

yeah well i was just looking around at Neuspeed, APR And Borla, and all their products are for 5 spd. Is it even possible to get an exhaust for a gay auto?

Any suggestions on where to look?

if worse comes to worst, did you thing about maybe piecing together a custom set up. I'm sure you can find like a seperate downpipe, muffler, and 3 in. piping for example, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

check Remus too, maybe they will have something.

yea, peacing it together is the way to go. if u go to an exhaust shop they can custom bend the pipe for ur car. just buy the cat and muffler and theyl do the rest.

alright thanks guys ive gotta go take my car to get inspected by the insurence company friday and they are gonna tell him how much money they are gonna give me. so if everything works out ill look into all those options.

I think im gonna tell them that my exhaust was aftermarket before the accident, i doubt if they would know the difference or even take the time to check.
