Default Exhaust ???????

So my downpipe kinda fell apart today and I was thinking about just getting an exhaust such as borla. My question is will the an exhaust be fine without the car being chipped?wasn't sure if it would run lean. I know about talons not audis so much. car is 01 a4 1.8t quattro.

Yeah your car will definitly run fine. The Borla pipe diameter isn't that wide... if your downpipe is over 3 inches then you'd need a lot more power to build up pressure. I think Borla is 2 inch piping all the way down, 2.50 inch mufflers... Milltek has 2.75 in mufflers I know that, unsure about the downpipe diameter but I know both will do perfect with stock. Infact they increase horsepower and you really lose restriction, makes your car run a lot nicer. Only problem with getting a full exhaust is its hard on your wallet, but worth it in the end... especially if you plan on chipping in the future.
