Default Exhaust - Borla vs. AWE - Same system?

I am wanting to to get the AWE exhaust for my 02 1.8t avant. I have read on the forums that AWE exhaust is actually made by Borla?? Is the whole AWE system Borla or just some components? I listened to a guys AWE at a car show this weekend and I liked the sound ..... not too loud. I was previously looking at Milltek because it is quiet, but I was told that the Milltek was very hard to install because it just doesn't fit as well, and because it doesn't fit well it is likely that I will get exhaust leaks. I don't know how true that is, but I know I liked the AWE sound. BUT .... I have heard and read that the Borla exhaust is somewhat loud, and I don't want anything that will draw alot of attention ... SO if AWE is made by borla, wouldn't it be just a s loud as the Borla system?? The AWE didn't sound loud at the time I listened to it ... but maybe it really is loud and I just didn't hear it in the right place at the right time. Is AWE as loud as Borla?

AWE uses Borla mufflers but bends and welds up the rest of the piping in their shop. I have Milltek and the fit is excellent.
