i was thinking about getting a 69 Camaro last summer so i have a bunch of sites with parts and one thing i had was exhaust cutouts.

so i was thinking when i get a custom exhaust built what if i got one, would it be worth the time? would it be possible to put it befor the Cat? and would it set off the CEL if i did?

I had a custom flowmaster X-pipe on my '03 Mustang GT and it never set off my CEL...but its american..lol...in an Audi its highly likely it might set it off. Do it after the CAT and it also depends in what state your in.

 

well whats nice about the site i posted is there electronic, so you can open and close with a switch.

I'll be going with a boost actuated cut-out soon. Mine will be before the cat, but that would be difficult to do on a regular set-up. A cut-out on stock turbo will loose low-end but have gains up top. A boost actuated one keeps the low end and you get the increased top end power.

i dont have a turbo though so would it still be good. and do you think it would set off the CEL?
