my car does not make boost until like 4k rpms and I'm thinking it has to do with the exhaust leak right after the turbo to testpipe because i can feel air leaking from the gasket and when i floor it i can hear the exhaust leak because it sounds like a fart can and has a strong exhaust odor. my boost would be all fucked up if the exhaust leak was right after the turbo due to the fact that its probably screwing with the 02 readings. I have vaged the car and I have no fault codes and i even unplugged the wastegate and still get no boost so Im assuming this is because the exhaust leak?

 

I dont think that is your problem my stock cat cracked right at the flange mounting it to the turbo when it got hot is would come completly off so exhaust was exiting directly out of my turbo and my car still made boost under 3k rpm's. If your exhaust leak was before your turbo it could cause you to boost late. Have you checked for boost leaks? If nothing changed when you disconected your wastegate I would say it is leaking boost.

 

only reason i ruled out a boost leak is because when i floor the car from 4000 rpm it boosts up to 18 psi so i highly doubt its a boost leak. maybe my car still has to get used to the new ECU since I had to get a new PC-16 chip

 

i have a simular problem, ended up being a intermittent n75 valve that wasnt showing up on my vag either. i went threw all my exhaust parts making sure they where in torque spec,did a boost leak test, and replaced my dv. check your n75 valve.

 

i dont have an N75 valve im running an MBC

 

The car only makes like 5psi of boost under 4k and once i go over 4k it will make like 18psi and hold about 14psi to red line. seems like the ecu is adapting or something like that because the first day i drove it it would make no boost and idle wierd and after 2 days of driving it seems to get better everyday. my boost guage reads a little under 20hgin at idle and crusing when i let off its at 25hg in so i doubt there is a boost leak. also under acceleraton there is no rushing air sounds that might indicate a leak. when it stops raining ill pressure test it

 

Yeah, I agree, not a boost leak. How long have you had the new PC-16 chip?

I don't think the boost problem has anything to do with the exhaust leak. You would get a CEL if it was bad enough. The ECU probably just needs time to adjust.

 

yeah thats what im thinking because the car has no codes it drives fine it just takes forever to make boost but when it does it hauls ***
