Default Exhaust Question

I just want to confirm...
As i have a chipped audi a4 1.8T quuattro and i will be getting a FMIC aswell.. will it be best for me to get a 3 inch exhaust system (turbo back of course) orrrr a 2.5 inch system??
I've heard good and bad things about both and i just want to know straight out which one would be best for my car!
So far i have decided to go turbo dump pipe, high flow cat (with fire ring) all mandrel bent in mild steel and custom stainless steel mufflers but i havent decided what size piping is best yet... any advice would be appreciated.
cheers guys

Well, the 3in will give you more high end power where the 2.5 will give you more low end.

oh really? hmmm
would there be a noticable difference between the top end and bottom end power? between the two sizes?
also would there be a bit more sound or note out of the 3 inch piping?

i would go with the 2.5in piping, you get more torque and in a 1.8 you'll notice it more than the top end power you would get w/the 3".... The most important part of any type of race is how fast you can get going from a stop or at slower speeds, realisticly you won't ever be able to use the top end power all the time where you would with the low end power.

3" is way to is way to big for a <2.0L engine. It is even a little to big for a 4.6L Mustang Gt. Get 2.25" or 2.5" exhaust. you will be morepleased with tone and performance.

Horsepower sells cars, Torque wins races.

How much is that downpipe?

David_k.. Imola told me about this downpipe. He told me its the best one for cheapest price of $250. There suppose to add 15 to 20hp.
