EXHAUST RATTLING!!!
I took my B6 3.0 Ultra-Sport into Sunset Audi (Portland) 3 times, because they couldn't target where a rattling in my exhaust was coming from. At first they thought it might've been a heat shield underneath the bumper, above the passenger-side muffler. So they tightened a couple things, but it was still doing it. I took it in yesterday, because they diagnosed that it was most likely something that had broken off and was rattling inside the resonator. So they ordered a new resonator/piping that I believe goes from the resonator to the mufflers. (Not exactly sure 'cuz the service guy wasn't positive on the 3.0's what the parts include).
Anyway I get a call/voicemail saying they replaced the parts, but the rattling is worst. WTF??????? I'm not mad...I'm good to go for now in an '07 Cadillac CTS 3.6 V6. But what the hell is wrong? Anyone else have a similar problem?
They're not sure exactly what's wrong, and will call me 2mor when they know more. If they end up having to replace basically the whole exhaust (It's all under warranty thank god) I'm thinking about upgrading to the SuperSprint exhaust (Audi's upgrade).
Anyway..again...anyone have any idea or have similar problems? The whole thing's been really weird and obviously not a common problem.

When I had my Jeep Wrangler, I had a rattle from the exhaust. Took it to Jeep and they right away diagnosed it as the cat. converter. They replaced it and I was on my way... nice and quiet...
I've been having a noise come from mine lately too. I think that the whole exhaust system is moving around. I'm hoping that there are just some rubber hangers that are worn out and I need to replace those. I can move my whole rear exhaust section by just barely pushing on the exhaust tips.
They replaced the resonator and part of the piping ($1300 in parts) and it still rattled...even more-so. They adjusted some brackets and it quieted down, just to where it was when I brought it in. They said it's most likely the air coming down from the headers, and back-pressure created going from two into one pipe into the resonator, and that there's nothing else they can do. And they said it will most likely get worse. I don't know what the hell I'm gonna do. Sell it? Put a damn riced-out exhaust on it to drown the sound????? God-damn it I'm frustrated.
I had a squeak coming from my car going over bumps. I thought it was a worn suspension component, but then I looked under my car. One exhaust hanger broke off. I just removed it because it was contacting the exhaust (and making the squeak). All was well after that rusty thing was gone. Check the simple things out first
