I am a cheap bastard so I bought one of those cheap mufflers on ebay. The sound is nice, but I wouln't say there is a real performance gain. Nothing noticeable at least.

 

is it street legal? I tend to run into police alot and i dont want anything illgeal on my car. How much did u pay? Was it worth the money? What does it sound like?

 

Why would it be illegal? It's only slightly louder than stock.

adding an aftermarket muffler doesn't effect the emisisons. Unless you are talking about sound emmissions. The one I bought was around 30 bucks. I can't find it anymore, but it looks like any of the "DTM" style mufflers.

 

how is the install? Do u need any special tools?

 

I just took it to a muffler shop. They welded it on.
