i took my car to the dealership for repair. i told them my problems w/ the car. They inspected the car and called my extended warranty company for authorization. Now, I guess the EWC company is coming out to look at my car! Is this normal. or did the dealership throw me in front of the bus, because my car looks/sound the way it does. And if they did why would they as long as they get their money.
here are the problems:
small leak where driveshaft comes out of trany
squeaking from front drivers fender
bad rear o2 sensor
bad temp sensor (inside car)
bad alternator

my mods are as follows

 

the warranty will fall because of the mods unless they were there when you bought the car ( mods invalidate the warranty ) be prepared to pay

 

one thing to remember here when modding is your warranty is worthless for obvious reasons

 

how will they know that i had my car chipped? are they going to scan it? the exhuast isn't even covered under their warranty. i am just really curious to what they why they are going to check it out? don't they believe the dealership as to what parts are bad. i don't know, maybe i will just say i got the car like that

 

of course they scan it but if you replace the original chip and reset it then its obvious, changing the exhaust is a visible thing so obvious but tail pipes don't count because that's aesthetic, put bigger wheels on that excludes your warranty unless you tell them same as insurance

 

warranties and insurance look for reasons NOT to pay out

 

guess i will fight and scream about this. i know i am in the wrong but...it doesn't hurt to try...anyways i only wanted the 300 dollar alternator replaced... i am fine doing everything else.

 

i had the same problem with my warranty, i had it lowered with sway bars and wheels and my mechanic said they will void the warranty as soon as they see all the mods, they only coem out if the bill goes over 1,000. i had the mods when i bought the warranty but the person who wrote it up at audi never put the mods down, i put my car back to stock just in case. i have used the warranty twice and they have not come out. the factory warranty from audi i never had problems with, they even put it on special lifts so they wouldn't scrape the bottom. good luck with warranty.[&:]

 

This has to be due to the mods on the car. I have an aftermarket warranty and when my car was sick, they stealership called the company and it was all authorized. It was about $2k in work. Good luck with your journey though...

 

yeah i mean how good are the warranty guys that come out are they going to be able to look at my engine bay and say wow this guy has a test pipe. i mean my engine is clean, it looks stock. who is going to reach around the fender to see if i did a air box mod? i am hoping the car wont start since the alternator is bad. so they wont be able to hear the exhuast and i mean looking at the car you can't really tell an exhaust was put on unless you know. if they say something about the rims i will say i smacked a curb and bent a couple rims over time so i had to buy new ones. i am going to justify the **** out of this, if there is a problem. and in the end i will blame it all on the dealership i bought it from.
