well it finally happened and i messed up my car. my dumb @$$ was in a rush and forgot the e-brake (which is extremely rare for me) and my car ended up rolling into my friends trailer. one part went strait thru the grill and dented the hood where it goes around the grill. the bumper is scratched beyone belief but other then that its fine. ive decided to go with a new bumper and im probably gunna get an s4 bumper(there is a difference right?), so my main question is are the bumpers hard to find? and about how much more is it for an s4 bumper then the a4? it doesnt need to b painted, in fact id rather it in raw plastic. also since i might end up needing a new hood are there any custom hoods that look good for this car or no? im not looking for anything with vents or any weird stuff like that, but is there anything that has that m3 style to it with the bulge in the hood? and if anyone has a spare bumper id be interested in that too.

VIS makes a carbon fiber oem hood, you might want to look into that.

Also, S4 bumpers will probably cost around $8-900. the fog lights and fog light mounts are different so it's going to cost you more then you think.

 

holy $hitt thats a lot more then i was expecting. are there any other bumpers cheaper then that, that are custom but i dont needa whole kit for? one of my pet-peeves is when the bumper is lower then the car i HATE that look. im also gunna wait till monday to make any final decisions cause theres a few local salvavge yards around here that i know have a4's i just gotta find out where they were hit. thats gunna suck if i gotta do all this work just to bring it back to stock. thanks for info tho.

 

well i think my problems are a little worse the i thought. the fan now rubs on the radiator i think, but its only a very little bit cause the radiator has a slight bow in it now, but my biggest problem is i think the power steering pump is going too. every time i take a turn at low speeds it sonds like the pump is crying. is this a big problem? and is this something related to the accident or is it common for the pump to go? any help is needed please.

 

do you hear anything when your parked and turn the wheel from lock to lock? if you do then it's def the pump. otherwise it could be sumthing else. one thing you have to get used to is when your ready to park, shut off the car with your feet still on the clutch and brake, pull out the key, put it into gear and then pull the ebrake and get outa the car. then when you go to start it again, leave the ebrake on, press the clutch and brakes, put it into neutral and make sure it's in neutral, then start the car. that will avoid anything like your car roling away happening lol.

also why do you want to replace your front bumper? if there are dents just bondo it, sand it, primer it and paint it. much cheaper than buy a whole new bumper. as forthe hood, it depends on how bad it is. bondo could fix that too. if your radiator has a prety big dent in it, i would suggest replacement. put up some pic though

 

Dude, send me a pic of both your fog lights. Mine are all pitted from sand on the roads. I'll buy 'em from you if they're good, and help you pay for that s4 bumper.

sry man im keepin the bumper and the fogs. besides mine are pretty foggy themselves. im gunna repair the hood and bumper in the spring so i dont have to wait hours for the bondo to dry cause i dont have access to a garage right now. im also gunna shave theheadlight washer and buy a nice grille to put in it.but to get back to the other problems, yes the car makes the noise when im stopped. im 99% sure its the p/s pump and now im just wondering how important it is to fix this right away. im gunna look for engine diagrams and everything cause i honestly dont know where the pump is but its probably bent and just straining when i need power steering at low speeds. i kno of an a4 thats being parted around here so i just gotta find out how much for the pump and how hard it is to replace but i wanna get this done asap. would it be bad to drive like this till after x-mas?
