Default Faded instrument cluster

I'm sick and tired of this recurrent problem.

Does anyone have one they have replaced for faded display ( not failed pixels) they want to send me?

I want to see if there is anything that can be replaced that can solve the problem, but I need someone's trashed display to work on.

Thanks

What year is your audi? I have a good instrument cluster from a 97 in my basement doing nothing.

I have a 2000.

I want one with the central computer display so that I can try replacing parts. I think that the problem is failed capacitor(s) and if there are only a few on the board and they are accessable, these boards should be able to be fixed with about 2 dollars worth of parts and 30 minutes with a soldering iron.

I'm looking for someone who has replaced their display for the fading pixel problem. Fortunately, I haven't experienced this yet, but it is probably a matter of time....
