fault code
ok so i recently braught my car in for a tune-up at a local shop where i worked with the mechanics. after all was done it was test driven it was hooked up to the vag. i got this fault code 16201 system in basic setting (idle -0.5 load 14.0) meaning my engine is either leaking air or its the mass airflow sensor telling my engine to eat fuel. i noticed this problem just a day ago it seemed i just ran out of gas. i've been monitoring it and it seems the problem is still there i'm going through gas faster then normal. any suggestions on what else this could be? or something i could do myself to fix this problem?
any recommendations and info is much appreciated

RE: fault code
I am not finding that code in any of the documentation for the a4. The codes start at 16394, and go up from there. Or, it will begin with a P followed by four digits.
Please verify the correct code, maybe read it again and re-post.

RE: fault code
yea the coding says 16201 with nio DTC reconized. and my tune-up was fuel filter, pollen filter, air filter, oil chage, spark plugs, tire rotation top off fluids and a replacement of a connector hose

RE: fault code
heres some possibilities...
a) your injectors are block - not likely
b) your fuel pressure is low - possibly, i don't know how much it would affect it but your fuel filter could have been put on in the wrong direction..
c) or you have a vac leak
have you taken it back to the shop yet? what did they say?

RE: fault code
yea i went back yesterday and told them i have been watching my gas milage go up and down rather drastically and they said its probably the sensor in my gas tank and to keep an eye out on my gas milage and clock my milage after a full tank. but it still doesnt solve the issue of the fault code -i just hope its not vac leak or mass airflow cuz both are rather expensive to fix

RE: fault code
jack up your car and see if your fuel filter is on the right way, notice how one side has a rim on it and the other is just flat rounded...
i have no idea how much having it on the wrong way affects the car, but if there is a right and a wrong way, it must change something...

RE: fault code
i checked the fuel filter and it's on correct so thats not the problem -i'm gunna watch my fuel and milage till break is over then have it hooked up to the vag again unless anyone is around somerset county NJ and has a vag.

RE: fault code
you can always do a pressure test yourself if you have an air compressor... http://www.a4mods.com/index.php?page...boostleak.html
