Default Few A4 1.8T Questions.

Morning Audi Owners,

I currently own a 05 GTI 1.8T and I am thinking about upgrading. My GTI is currently on the Revo 4bar program along with some other bolt-ons. The GTI has been fun, but honestly to say.. I am getting bored of it. The handling on the GTI isn't really there for me. At first I thought about dropping a GT28RS kit on it, but I don't think it would be too ideal for me to do so. Traction would be a nightmare for me.

With all that said, I am interested in picking up a B6 A4 Avant 1.8T Quattro. However I had a few questions for you Audi gurus. I will provide a list of questions, and I hope that some of you guys may shine in and help me out.

1.) How is the handling on a B6 Avant Quattro?
2.) What would it take to get a B6 Avant 1.8T to get into the 12's?
3.) How is the reliability on Audi's?
4.) Can the Avant keep up on the track (twisties) with other AWD cars?

Some of the questions may seem ignorant to some of you, but it would help me out immensely. Thank you all in advance.

-Dustin

1. Put a nice spring and shock combo on it and it will handle very well, stock is ok with sport pkg
2. A big *** turbo, probably a gt3071r, i dont think a 2871r would cut it
3. They are just as reliable as VW's so you should know that, if you take care of them they will take care of you
4. As long as they are equally matched power wise it should have no problem at all

In my opinion if you want a track performer you should stay with the v dub. The audi is a luxury performer that will be heavier than your gti. Although you will have the quattro with the audi the gti can get more power to the wheels with less drivetrain loss. But as this is an audi forum I have to do my part to say that audis for me are the smoothest handling cars and definitely hook up with traction. Good luck with those heavy mods if you want to get into the 12's.
