Whats up everyone. I bought an 01 A4 1.8tq about a month ago, just have a few questions. One thing is, idk if its just the auto/tip tranny but ive noticed that launch is prettttyyyy slow. Noticably. Even if the petal is dropped to the floor it still is very, very slow until about 10-15mph. no torque no pickup, i mean nothing. it literally feels like its being pushed of the line. haha idk. another thing is that ive heard from friends that some of the b5 a4's were made stock with k04's? i have a bunch of other questions, its just too late for me to think right now. thanks!

ah yes... things are starting to come to me now. okay.. so now on to audio... the stock setup doesnt have that loud of output... im wondering how hard a h.u. install would be, and how clean and flush it would be with the dash. also, what are the speaker setups offered stock/option for the 2001?

does anyone know anything about the other things i asked? lol... also when my car is idled with the a/c on the rpms always bounce at about 1k, making the car shake and even slowly "jump" forward when it bounces when in drive stopped at a light etc..

 

About the lag problem, almost all Audi turbos lag till around 10-15mph. You can kinda fix the lag by chipping it, from what ive heard.

 

The car is slow. Thats the way it is. That is why we chip them. You have a double whammy, because you are turbo (no low rpm power) and you are tip.

I drove one like yours before I bought mine, and it was super slow taking off just like yours is. Be careful pulling in front of trucks or busses until you get a chip in that thing.

I dont know what year yours is, but the earlier models were dog slow off the line. I drove anolder onelike his, and I thought something was wrong with it too, but thats just the way they are.
no power at all until you hit 2.5-3k, and the auto makes it even worse cause you cant get the revs up (without powerbraking).
not sure if his has 170hp or 150, but the one I drove was 150hp auto, and man it had no pickup from a dead stop.

 

Mine's a 2000. It doesn't seem to get off that slow; then again, I don't know what's stock on the car and what isn't. But I can tell you that I do 0-60 in about 5.3s; is that fast for these cars? I dunno what the stock 0-60 speed is.

 

Thatis quick for a stock 2000 auto. You mustalready be chipped if you run that.
