I [sm=smiley27.gif] CPO [sm=wootwoot.gif]

what year exactly? - I say with the CPO you got a good/ok deal - you in no way got screwed. After the warranty is up, count up all the maintinence they did for free and the stuff you had fixed, now figure out how much you paid for your car - 18-19k if you don't have any major problems. In other words, the warranty will pay for itself.

Exactly, I found plenty of cheaper '04's, but none of them were from an actual "dealer", and not onehad the CPO. I don't care ifnot one thingactually breaks on the car, the fact that all my oil changes, brake pads, TIMING BELT, and scheduled major tune ups are covered makes itwell worth it. Oh yeah, every time it goes in, even for an oil change.....I get a new loaner!

It's the 1.8, the only thing I'm thinking about is an APR chip, with the stock program of course. Will an aftermarket DV throw any red flags with the dealer? If not, what is the general opinion of the APR R1? Is the Forge 007 better?

While you note all the items fixed under waranty, also note how many of the things they try to get out of fixing, or disassociate with the waranty. Not a bad deal though, it should be a good car for lots and lots of miles. A chip is great, but would you really want to go chance voiding that wonderful waranty?? [8D]
Im not trying to be a dick, Ive just seen a lot of people with waranties get the shaft. In a lot of cases, the value of a waranty is not that great. Consider the down time, time off work you have to take to wait on someone else to fix your car (even if its for "free".) Lets just say youre not on salary and get paid 12/hr. Thats about $100 youre out for missing one workday, when the problem they are fixing might be a $15 part that takes litteraly 2 minutes to swap. Sorry, I kinda went off there [sm=rant.gif]

Even though I got hit with oil sludge out of the blue!

But now I have a engine and turbo with zero miles.. FOR FREE. So in the end, I win
