My buddy just recently got an 05 S4 Tip. When we took it to the APR dealer and they hooked him up they werent able to pull up any programs for his car. After talking to APR on the phone turns out that no one has chipped an 05 tip s4. So they pulled all of his info out through the vag-com and sent it to APR. His chip is gonna be ready in a just a few days. We don't know how its going to perform yet considering the new gear ratios in the 05. It's really gonna be awesome. Plus now he got a great relationship with APR, considering they built an entire chip based of his car. Ill be sure to let everyone know how it turns out...

I've always wondered about the chip upgrades. Can the dealer detect that they've been messed with? If yes, I assume your warranty is toast. Any insights?

 

if they find out your warrenty is gone but some chip dealers sell reflash remotes to hide your chip

 

By reflash you mean to reset factory values?

Can you do that if your car dies? Say you get stuck at the hwy, no power, no starting, no nothing. Can you reset the beast before being towed?

 

no, you can't reset your car when it breaks down, sorry....and yes reflashing sets all your settings back to stock values
