Default first big DIY

Well i did my first big DIY other then changing oil. I changed my post cat o2 sensor today. It wasnt to bad jole job took abou 2 hours. the only pain was A: audi tieraps the 2 sensors together all the way down so it makes it imposible the cut the unless your are is the size of a toothpick.

B:stupid autopartswarehouse.com sent me the wrong o2 sensor the sent the left (brown) instead of the right (green). The onlt diff between the 2 is that there is a side lip on the brown one. so my choices were to cut and splice the wire didnt want to do that. Call and bit** and get it replace didnt want to wait anouther week to get part. So i cut off the lip so it would plug into the green conector and pray it would work. I took it the AutoZone to clear the code and so far so good. All i need to do now is cut out the old sensor and all done.

All in All not to hard to do. Forget paying the man $500 to do it.

Just one other question i took my gauge cluster out to replace the light and it looks like someone had removed what i would guess to be either insulation or a heat shield. Is there any thing i can put there to replace it?

The main diffence in the rear oxygen sensors is the wire lenth. And you were right not to cut and splice such a low voltage wire. That can cause problems donw the line. JUst to give yo ua little respect for the man thats an easier repair on an audi. Audi helper migit "toothpick" not required. Probably pays about 15min warranty. Howd you feel if you got paid 15 min for your 2hr worth of work? And that inclueds getgin the car and diagnoising it. Getting the wrong parts from the parts department. Kinda like you did. So dont be so quick to diss the man.
