BT = Big Turbo....it's ok for him to run a BOV cause he's probably going "stand alone" so his turbo n **** is not part of the original audi system
Stand alone? I highly doubt it. I'm sure he is running revo software. Many ppl run the forge bov. It works well with Audi's.
ok ok ok, I drive a 2.8...I admit to talking directly out of my @$$ on that one

redgoat, im confused about the bov thing, as im sure others are. why is it ok for your car to run one? everyone on here swears they are bad for audi motors...you say you have a BT. whats that? sorry for the shiitty questions! [&:]
The Audi turbo system is a closed loop system by which all unused boost that is spooled during off throttle and gear shifts must be re-routed within the system; it cannot be vented to the atmosphere due to the dependence on the MAF and ECU to properly read and interpret air flow dynamics within the intake tract. Therefore BOV's (Blow-Off Valves) are not used because they create a rich air/fuel condition (i.e. less air to fuel ratio) which will damage the catalytic converter, create soot on the exhaust pipes, and cause occasional misfiring (due to the purged air) which will result in ECU miscalculated timing adjustments and other errors.

I am running software that doesnt require a MAF, and in fact I dont have a MAF.. it bottle necks the 3" piping..

That is why it is ok for me to run a BOV, because the car is setup for it

If you do still have your MAF, then you will have some problems like IMOLAS4 stated

So is the car as fast as you expected? I need to get a ride in one of these GTRS cars. My car needs to be faster.

Can you explain to me once and for all (since you seem to have a good grasp on it based on the post above) whether or not a Forge DV or even a BOV has any business being on a B7?
I have heard that the 710N works, but I have also heard a Tuner shop owner tell me that he'd like to know where the hell someone put a 710N on a B7 because it has an electronic DV. (????)

Also, the same tuner shop owner suggested a small piece of hardware that they install somewhere "further down the line" that doesn't do anything to mess with the readings from the ECU.
This small piece of hardware makes a sound kind of like a mini-BOV, and was offered for $60.

Someone wanna' educate me?
I have researched this matter on my own previously, but what I thought was right - I was told is incorrect.

Thanks.
