FIRST MOD! I'M EXCITED!

RE: FIRST MOD! I'M EXCITED!
A diverter valve (DV) is a pathway for boost when it is not being used by your engine. Whenever the throttle body is closed, like during shifts or decelleration, the boost needs an escape route. If the boost cannot escape during these times, it can back up and cause shocks to the turbos. These shocks will stall the turbos, slowing boost production upon re-acceleration (turbo lag). Even worse, these shocks can cause damage to the turbos. The diverter valves' job is to open when the throttle body is closing or closed, and reroute the boost to the low pressure intake side of the turbos, where it can do no harm. (courtesy of AWE-Tuning)
You have some options here-
Forge $135
Bailey $160
or one from an audi TT $40-50 (I believe its the 710N)
As soon as I'm putting in my APR chip, I'm doing the Baileys DV.
Hope this helps.

RE: FIRST MOD! I'M EXCITED!
Thank for the quick respond...
Another question I'm having is...
If you look at the webpage here
http://www.ecstuning.com/stage/edpd/...ro&engine=1.8T
What's the difference between the RACE? 007? and A-Line?

RE: FIRST MOD! I'M EXCITED!
i thought about adding injectors while i was at it
but since i thought i might enjoy my 30hp for now
and also might do a little other mods else where first
since i don't want to have too much power where i can't control the car...
or the car's stock parts not supporting it

RE: FIRST MOD! I'M EXCITED!
good call.. cause then you need new brakes suspension ect.. i would recommend if you are only going to do like 30 to 50 extra hp for the car that you look into cross drilled rotors(not a bbk) drilled rotors are only like 150 a pair and will definatly help for that little extra power you are getting... if you are going to do like 300+ hp i would look @ a bbk(big brake kit).

RE: FIRST MOD! I'M EXCITED!
Well..now we're talkin big time. You need a turbo upgrade to get that kinda juice...your stock brakes should be just fine for the kinda hp a chip and exhaust are gonna put out. Plus you really only need big brake kits if you're gonna be tracking your car or if you tend to drive at illegally fast speeds anywhere you go. Heck..I could use a bbk if I drove my car like I stole it and I have no performance mods yet (DV doesn't count).

i like the chip... but i was maybe expecting a little more from it
but anywaz still feels great
does much better at lower torque
thinking my DV won't hold my chip...
got to change it soon
thinking about the Sport 110 after talking to the mechanics there... any comments on that?
