Default Flex Pipe?

On my 1999 A4 1.8T Quattro the metal piece right before the flex section is broken, its probably impossible to weld back because of the material of flex section, right? Would I be able to purchase a Universal Flex Section or do I have to buy the whole down pipe that connects from the converter to the exhaust system? Thanks in advance for the help.

I was looking at Universal Flex Sections on ecstuning.com, any better websites?

I think my flex pipe is bad aswell becuase theres clamps on it, looks like someone fixed it with those and i bought more clamps but can't seem to get the leak to stop. Anything I can do about it?

Depending on what you plan on doing in the future it might be time to upgrade your exhaust cat back since you need to replace the flexpipe anyways. If no mods are planned I say go to a custome exhaust shop and see what they can do for you. It will be much cheaper than dealer.

Any exhaust shot should be able to weld in a new flex pipe

I bought a newdown pipe (with flex section in it) from carparts.com for $70.
Paid a guy 50 to install it.
It was real bitch to install, I'm gladI was watching on this one.

So then just get the whole down pipe, not the flex section and bring it to a local shop?
