i had my stock dv fliped around on my car with all my mods it worked fine and when it was taken off to be replaced with a hyperboost one it was still in working order. i dont know y a aftermarket one would be installed backwards cus if that was so they would of made it back wards. if its aftermarket then the way it says to be put in imo u should follow that. but i may be wrong

if its in reverse u run the possibility of ripping the diaphram in the valve. audi/vw from the dealer did instal them reversed and in the correct position. im sure they did this bc it didnt matter if ur runin the car stock which is all intentions of any car manufacture. so when u start to boost higher its goin to increase the risk of damaging the valve. its not goin to hurt anything else ull just lose boost which means u lose power. ive never heard of anyone sayin to flip a forged style dv backwards bc it will work better. i never have and never will bc there isnt any point to it besides a gay 'cool' sound

well obviously you cant do this on a dv with a rubber diaphram like the stock one, think about whats goin on mechanically inside. It will def cause premature failure

Skibos: For your hb one which i believe is a piston type, it will be fine. Not really any difference, I ran my forge both ways no difference in sounds, performance or anything..imo its an urban legend.
