Hi i have a 2000 audi a4 1.8 quattro....so im waiting at my cousin house for the storm clear up. once i did i left the house a drove a half a mile up the rode. Waters everywhere. I come across a huge flooded area(about size of my four tires in height) i drive through it stupidly thinking im gonna make it as other cars did. As im driving through i notice my battery light flash on a off and the car began to cut off and on slowly. Thankly i made out the flood but once i did the car shut off. I tried cranking it on a it wouldnt start. It sound likes it wants to but doesnt. I tried a couple of times. On the first try slight smoke came out the hood. By this time im freaking out i mean i love my audi. The second and other times again it sound like it wants to but doesnt. On the fifth try it cranks up, woddles a little as i put it on drive and drive about a foot then shut off again. Now its doing the same thing as second try, wont FIRE up. I get it towed and notice a hose on the passenger seat side came unloose under front bumper. Probably from the water. I dont know what this hose but im hoping its the problem. I didnt put it back in yet because its late and wet outside. Can someone please tell me what this hose is and what came out of it. Is this the reason why my car isnt starting? everything works, it just wont crank up. Thanks for the help i really need it asap....i have work tomorrow lol
