So the final cost to repair my baby is 5.6K, moral of the story, don't crash. See pics...

What did you do? Hit sombody in the crosswalk? If you ever do this pull the body towards your car and out of the crosswalk. this will make it look like they were J-walking. dont pull them away from the car, this will look like you hit them out of the crosswalk.

Make sure they are dead first. Run over once or twice more if they are still alive.

Payment for death is a lot less than for "pain and suffering".

Yep, have full coverage and insurance is paying the full tab. I am sure in the future I will be paying back that 5.6k in insurance hikes, but one can hope for the best as this was my first accident ever. Kind of sucks to know that you can get 5.6k worth of damage when you hit a car going 10 miles per hour.

Just as a follow-up, Geico only took 3 days to settle the claim. Got in the accident Sunday morning and just got off the phone with the body shop, and I should have my car by Friday of next week. All in all not too shaby.

wow 5,600 seems a little steep to me. There really isn't that much damage. Looks like all you will need is a new bumper w/support, radiator, hood, headlight, headlight bracket, and some misc little parts here and there.

Personally if that were my car here would be my parts list for the repair:

Carbon fiber hood 33 lbs savings at 1k
After market bumper approx 600-700 bucks (re-use stock bumper foam-its probably fine)
Ecode headlights xenon ready 500 bucks
Rs4 grill 80 bucks
other misc parts like radiator or condensor no more than 600 bucks

Top end that will put you at a parts cost of 2,900 dollars. Paint and prep plus labor shouldn't be more than 2,600. That would put you back to mint condition with some cool upgrades so you may want to look into this posibility. From my body shop experience that just really dosn't look like 5.6k worth of damage especially if your putting stock parts back on.

The car i put into a cement wall going 60mph needed a whole new front clip which includes taking a plasma cutter and taking off everything in front of the front doors off. This means engine removal and everything and that was a 10,00 dollar job(not for me though). It also needed airbags, windsheild, and framework. What you have is a fender bender with a twisted hood. Again sorry to ramble but take another look else where if you have the option. Just trying to watch out for ya bc alot of body shops are still standing only bc they screw people regularly.
