Front Right Headlight Bulb Out
Hey guys,
Seems as though this car is constantly i need of service. Today while driving at night the Front right side headlight went out. I stopped the car and put the high beams on, they work, and then I put on the Front fog lights they also work. Its the "DAY" lights that dont work. BTW I have a 99 2.8 Quattro. Just wondering is this something that I could replace easily myself? I am not mechanically inclined and do not have proper tools, I can tell you that. Also how much should the bulb run me? Can any mechanic do the change if need be?
Thanks

Well if it is just the light bulb burned out, then yeah it requires no tools and costs about 15 bucks US. Seriously though, just pop the hood and take a look at the headlight. It's not rocket science. I've posted the procedure like 25 times on how to change the light bulbs. Search.

Also do you guys know what type of bulb i need (e.g. H7 etc.). Thanks...and also I was reading the owners manual they were saying to replace it I have to "disable/close the circuit" what circuit?...does it basically mean I shouldnt have my car turned on while replacing it?

Yes, have the lights off (the car lights). If you do it in total drakness, it will be very difficult
Do not touch the glass part of the new bulb. Finger prints can cause the glass to overheat and the bulb to blow prematurely.
I have used Sylvania Silverstars, but frankly, I was disappointed in their short life compared to standard halogens
