Default fuel filter blunder

okay so friday i decided to change my fuel filter to hopefully geta bit more response since i figured it was not changed the whole life of the car. I headed down to shucks to order a fuel filter and picked it up. I went home and started taking apart the old assembly and found out i didnt have the 3/8 13 point torx wrench. so i got frustrated and just broke it off. After that i got both banjo bolts off and started putting the new one back on. I got the OUT in first without a problem. Then IN i put in where i thought it was going in straight and ended up stripping the threads cause it wasnt in straight. i went back to schucks to grab a new one and had to wait to get it today. Needless to say i got it today, Did the IN right and turned the car on and the IN leaks. what a waste of time. I called schucks and said there **** doesnt work and i want a refund. Now i have to have my car towed to a local shop and have them do it. freakin a. has anyone else had problems with this sort of ****

i put the washers that came with the new fuel filter on and thats what made it leak. there were 2 kinds. 2 of each one had a bigger diameter but the amount of thickness on the rim was smaller. The other one had a little less diameter but the thickness of the rim was twice the size of the other one. the bigger rimmed one only fit on the out side which had no inlet. and the smaller rimmed but bigger diameter one worked on both of them. i used washers from the bolt to the circle thing and from the circle thing to the filter. the out did not leak but the IN did.

What kind of car do you have? I know that the 03' A4 has a fuel filter recall. I had mine replaced at my last service... they do it for no charge to the owner. Other A4's might have the same recall... I dunno.
