Default fwd vs awd

I am not sure if this was discussed before, probably was but I couldn’t find any info on this. I will be buying an A4 2.8 on stick in a month and i am not sure what is better to get. I know the Quattro is better to drive, better handling etc. but is it reliable? Quattro will have more components to maintain and break i would assume. I don't have a big budget to play around with so I need a reliable car. That is why I am getting a 2.8 even thou I love modding cars. If you guys can just fill me in on the info that would be great. Thanks

Although in theory you are correct about more parts, etc., I dare you to find documented instances of quattro breaking.
You won't.
It's very reliable, completely mechanical (no computer/electronic stuff as part of system), and just doesn't have problems.
Talk about other parts of an Audi and you'll find all kinds of problems depending on the year/model, but quattro rules and doesn't break.

This shouldn't even be a question... of course you have to have the quattro. Very reliable. Wouldn't have it any other way.

This is always a heated debate, and here's my opinion: if you arent doing mountain driving or sharp cornering, AWD just weighs down your car and makes it go slower. Ive driven both AWD and FWD versions of the A4, and there were two differences that were very noticeable...AWD took turns better, and FWD accelerated faster. And since you are looking at the 2.8 you arent going to have much opportunity to mod your car in the engine department (unless you supercharge = waste of money vs. just getting a 1.8T and modding that). So what it comes down to is what are u lookin to do...go for mountain drives, or smoke hondas off the line haha.
