Its all good. Plus Nobody anywhere has yet given diffinitive eveidence that damage cause in a stock motor was a direct result of using a lower octain fuel. (im not talking bout you opinion of what cause a motor to fail but something from audi or a fuel company).

Fuel Company will never say there low OCt fuel can cause engine damage to anycar, that would open them up to huge law suits and tremendous Liability

I have a 2002 1.8 A4. My book says I can use 87, but the gas door says 91. I usually run super/premium, but I sometimes run 87 when the price is *WAY* up there (like, $3/gal+ for 87).

My calculations show that I get better gas milage from higher octane which offsets the higher cost up to the $3/gal mark.

I also try to only run Shell gas -- I've heard more positive feedback about their additives than other companies. Further, the Shell stations around here are usually cheaper than BP and all the others.
